Hi Jackie: It's been just a couple of years, or so I moved to West Milford from Adamston and graduated from Unidis in 1954. Worked in Chicago for a couple of months, dispised the place, so headed back to WV. Looked for work for a couple of months. No one wanted someone my age, 17, and elgible for the draft in January. So on 17 Oct 1954 I was sworn into the USAF at the Embarcation Center, Fairmont WV. Spent 23 Years in the Air Force and traveled the whole world over. Married an Okinawa Girl, 18 Mar 1960, Tsuruko Kinjo (Mitch Carson) had two Girls 11 Months apart. Oldest in Mar 61 and my next Feb 62. They were born in New Jersey, Redbank NJ, Ft Monmouth Army Base. I lived in Sea Bright for 3 Years. Prior to New Jersey and Okinawa, I spent 2 Years in the Phillipines, 3 Months at Sampson NY (Genieva) 6 Months a Keesler, Biloxi MS. After New Jersey I was sent to Rockville Iceland. My wife and Kids moved to Duck Creek, outside of West Milford for a Year. Than I was sent to Syracuse NY for 3 Years and from there, got to go back to Okinawa, with my family, for 4 years. Than we all went to Cannon AFB, Clovis NM for a Year. From There I got assigned to Shemya AK, way out next to Russia for 1 year. Again my family stayed at West Milford WV. Form there (Shemya) I was sssigned to Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls MT. Retired from there in 1977 and have been here ever since. Went on TDY (Temporary Duty) many times, like Formosa...Expand for more
